In this brief article, we will try to briefly explain the basics, but relevant to the main ERP.

What is ERP - ERP is for the company's enterprise resource planning. ERP definition refers to both the ERP and business strategies that implement ERP systems. ERP implementation utilizes various ERP software applications to improve performance of the organization to: 1) control the management of resource planning, 2) and 3) operational control. ERP software consists of several software modules that integrate activities across functional departments - from product planning, parts purchasing, inventory management, product distribution, order tracking. Most ERP systems include application modules to support ongoing business operations - Financial resources, accounting and human resources.

ERP - ERP is more than just software. The system includes ERP software ERP business processes, users and hardware, which is managed by the ERP. ERP system is greater than the sum of its parts or components. These components work together to achieve the common goal - to enhance and improve the organization's business processes.

The history of the ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is an evolution of manufacturing requirements planning (MRP) II in 1980, when MRP is an evolution of inventory management and control was established in 1960 . ERP has expanded the integration of production, coordinating back-end business processes. Technically, the ERP has evolved from the implementation of the old flexible multi-tier client-server architecture.

Benefits of ERP - ERP software attempts to integrate business processes across departments of a single IT system across the enterprise. The main advantages of ERP is to improve coordination between ministries and business efficiency. ERP systems facilitate the everyday management. ERP systems and is the source of an ambitious, designed to support the management of the operations of strategic planning. In reality, resource planning is the weakest link in practice, ERP software, due to the complexity of strategic planning and the lack of integration of ERP with Decision Support Systems (DSS).

ERP Failures - We could not conclude our brief guide to ERP without mentioning ERP failures. The lack of multi-million dollar ERP are reported from time to time, even after 20 years of ERP implementation.
